thegoodanarchist: The game starts at 5 AM mountain time! I don't know if I can wake up that early for it....
May-14-12  BadKnight: The warm up period is over. The match has just started heating up. Is Anand just going to play safe with black, or put Gelfand on the rope with sharp stuff, as he did to Kramnik? I think its vital decision that the Vishy camp has to make now, as he has three black in the next four games. It will determine the later course of the match. I would love to see some sharp semi slav bloodsheds.

spinal pat: Will Anand try to push this time or would it be too eagerly? He sensed a win yesterday but timetrouble made him go for the safe solution.

Absentee: I'm out of snarky remarks on this match.
May-15-12  PYCJacobson: I am not taking sides. Both are splendid players and deserve to win for different reasons, but looking at the games, and the fact that Gelfand has not beaten Anand for ages, one does wonder how Gelfand is going to score a win. Anand just seems to have the ability to neutralise Gelfand's initiatives. Maybe his (Gelfand's) style is too classical to pose a serious threat to him.
May-15-12  PYCJacobson: Nonetheless, Go Boris!!!
May-15-12  kamalakanta: Anand missed a win yesterday. That is a psychological victory for Gelfand.
May-15-12  IgyZz: I guess we won`t see 1.e4 all match long from Anand, although he surprised Kramnik with it in 2008 match. WGM Pogonina mentioned that Gelfand would probably respond with Petroff, which is almost imposible to penetrate when played by an expert. On the other hand, if Gelfand opts for 1.e4 we will have Sicilian, as you guys already mentioned. That`s more likely to happen.

Eyal: <Anand missed a win yesterday. That is a psychological victory for Gelfand.>

On the other hand, Anand managed to outplay Gelfand and come very close to a win despite Gelfand's near-perfect opening preparation. That is a psychological blow for Gelfand.

May-15-12  PYCJacobson: <WGM Pogonina mentioned that Gelfand would probably respond with Petroff, which is almost imposible to penetrate when played by an expert.> Not sure about that - Anand has had a very good record against the Petrov, including a few wins against Kramnik, who would also qualify as an expert in the opening.

scormus: Boris "escape" yesterday will have given him a lot of encouragement - he is level and has W today. I agree if either of them play 1. e4 it will be him, perhaps the time is ripe. Sicilian, I hope
May-15-12  GiuocoPianoMan: Is there any analysis that shows Abandoned definetly missed a win?
