Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.

Boomie: <Domdaniel: Those ten-second increments aren't enough to keep Gelfand from, well, going down ... in the art gallery, with the clock.>

Dang. I bet on the conservatory with the candlestick.

Honza Cervenka: I think that black still has an easy draw here.

A delay?!

Do you have time to explain?

JenShahade: When I say holdable, I mean Black has chances to hold, not that it's technically a draw. I prefer increment to delay when I play because I find it less confusing and more intuitive but there are certainly arguments for delay. It's hard to plan round times, etc. when long games can drastically extend the expected game length.

May-30-12  KholdStare: Boris is in a decent position...as in not outright losing. Except! He has very little time...

May-30-12  MORPHYEUS: <A delay?!

increment = your time adds up
delay = it stays at 10 seconds

waustad: USCF tournaments are so often 1 or 2 days with many rounds a day, where FIDE are much more often RRs with 1 game a day.

JenShahade: Yes, the tension continues to tighten! These games are so thrilling and it's amazing how strong the play is considering stakes.

waustad: Does tablebase go to 7 pieces?
May-30-12  KholdStare: Boris didn't see 64...Be2! That will mark the end of white's pawn and left with RB vs R ending which is definitely drawn.
