  Babes: And after 34...Kg8?
Jun-05-12  MORPHYEUS: there follows N-e4
Jun-05-12  iking: time pressure + equal position leads to draw .... players of such caliber show respect to their equally talented opponents.
Jun-08-12  Transformer: White should have won. Houdini 1.5 on final position:

  Babes: Against Ne4 I want ...Rxf3. Then after Houdini's 36. Rc1 Qb6 37. Rd1 I want 37...Rxf2+ 38. Nxf2 Qxf2+ 39. Kh1 Qf5, point being that 40. Qxh6 Qf3+ is a perpetual.

Babes: Actually, not 39...Qf5, but 39...Qf6
Jun-15-12  Transformer: Instead of 39.Kh1, 39.Kh3 is stronger and avoids any threat of perpetual check.

Babes: hmm, I forgot that if ...Qf5+ then just Qg4. And if 36...Rxf2+ 37. Kh3 just wins for White. Well then, I suppose there's no more arguing with Houdini. That's some tricky stuff though; I can understand how even somebody of Wesley So's caliber didn't see it.
Jun-18-12  Transformer: I agree with you. None of this is easy to spot over-the-board.
