Jul-05-12  offramp: One of the great things about chess is when one is playing through a game and one arrives at a position such as after 33...Rb7.

It is a fairly sedentary R+N+4P v R+N+4P endgame. But one carries on playing through the game and by move 53 the game has become a razor-edged middlegame - it has gone backwards:

In this position black is threatening to win immediately with 53...Re2+ 54.Kf4 Qc1+ 55.Kf5 Qh1!! White comes up with a stunning practical solution:
53.Rh6+!
