  luzhin: 40...Kg6!! is a magnificent concept. The first point is that 41.Rg2+ Kxh5 42.Rxg8 Qe2+ 43.Qxe2 dxe2 44.Rg1 e1=Q 45.Rxe1 Bxe1 wins because the Bishop can stop White's q-side pawns. But it's a pity Sasikiran did not let us see the full beauty of Liem's King march: after 42.Kxg3 Kh5+ 43.Kh2 Kh4! 44.Qf2+ (only defence against Qxh3+) Qxf2 45.Rxf2 Rc8! 46.b6 Rc2 47.Rxc2 dxc2 48.b7 c1=Q 49.b8=Q Qd2+ 50.Kg1 Qe1+ 51.Kg2 Qe2+ 52.Kg1 Kxh3 and mate next move! In this line White could also try 47.Kg2 but then 47...d2 48.b7 d1=Q 49.b8=Q Rc1 forces mate.
Jul-16-12  harish22: The more i see this game, the more i begin to question some of the chess basics. Seems some of the chess rules have changed drastically.

1. On move 11, white gives his light-square bishop. This piece very useful in a lot of QGD lines.

2. Exchange his d-pawn for a an a-pawn.

3. Allow a c-pawn protected passer.

4. Two bishops vs two knights on an open-board

5. Use Rooks to block the passers instead of knights.

Not sure if white wanted black to just commit a blunder and hand him the win. Wonder what white's plan was during the entire game ?

Jul-18-12  norbi.hu: luzhin! after 42. Kxg3 what´s wrong with 42. ...Qh1; without computer analyzing - i think its leading to a faster win

  shivasuri4: <norbi.hu>, I guess 42... Qh1 would be replied with 43. Kh4, and there's no immediate win I can see.
