  algebraic: 10...♖a7 seems awkward.
Aug-06-12  paavoh: @algebraic: Why so? Ra7 cannot be easily attacked and it provides a chance to play Qa8, aiming at the White K side.

algebraic: But it does become attacked, is the subject of a pin, never makes it to d7, for example, and even though the Q goes to a8 nothing comes of it. But hey, I'm not the GM here.
Aug-06-12  Eyal: The position of the rook on a7 could have caused Black serious inconvenience after 15.Nb3!

<Today missed a fantastic chance to play 15.Nb3 and 15 ... Nfd7 16.Ng5!! Draw as a result.> (https://twitter.com/SergeyKaryakin/...)

Aug-06-12  polarmis: Just to add a curious detail about this game for posterity - Dubov says he accidentally repeated the position three times at the end (he only meant to do it twice and was "very surprised" when Sergey said it was a draw). He was planning on 36...e5 37.fxe5 Nxe5 38.Kh1 - and thought: http://russiachess.org/news/report/...

<White would have to put in a lot of effort to lose, but nevertheless Black is better; I'd have tested my opponent for maybe half an hour.>
