HeMateMe: this seemed like a draw. Bologan lost track of what was happening on the queenside.
Sep-29-12  paramount: I think losing a bishop in the endgame wouldnt be a win. b-pawn would cost the blacks bishop.

Anyway, this is a good game. Congrats for Jako

Oct-03-12  paavoh: Bologan opened a can of worms by playing 36.- b5 which seemed a very reasonable thing to do. Well evaluated and exploited by Jakovenko!
Oct-12-12  Revenant: In case anyone's wondering why black couldn't play 40... Qxb6, it's because of 41. Nxd5 Nxd5 42. Qc4 collecting the pinned black knight, e.g. 42... Qa5 43. Bg2, or 42... Qc5 43. Qxc5 dxc5 44. Bc4.

(Precision is required. In that same variation, 42. Qa2? is spoiled by 42... Qd4!, since 43. Bc4 Qxg4+ gives black a perpetual check and 43. Bg2? e4 would even leave black ahead.)
