Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-12-13  refraction: Amazing attack capitalizing on whites inability to castle.
Jun-13-13  Jamboree: Back when he was younger (late teens / early 20s), Anand was an absolute monster at Blitz -- he destroyed everybody. What made it so hard to play him is that he seemed to require no time whatsoever for thinking -- he'd play a move after 2 or 3 seconds that other top GMs would require several minutes to analyze. Most of those games from back then were never recorded, but this game here is likely a snapshot of how he played back then.
Jun-13-13  refraction: I remember that Anand as a younster was considered to be a "difficult" opponent for Kasparov (early 90s). He had won convincingly against Kasparov and was expected by many to win the 1995 world championship against him but failed due to psychological reasons. From 2000 we saw a new more balanced Anand.
Jun-13-13  Mr. Bojangles: < I remember that Anand as a younster was considered to be a "difficult" opponent for Kasparov (early 90s). Nothing truthful about the above.

Jun-13-13  refraction: I would link the fighting games between Kasparov and Anand of the early 90s and quote the interview after the 1995 world championship where Kasparov himself talked about many people who expected him to lose but <Mr. Bojangles> has demonstrated that he is more knowledgeable ofcourse :).
Jun-13-13  Mr. Bojangles: <but <Mr. Bojangles> has demonstrated that he is more knowledgeable ofcourse :).>

Well observed, thx.

perfidious: <Mr Bojangles> was rendered hors de combat for some weeks, due to a fractured arm he incurred whilst repeatedly patting himself on the back in response to <refraction>'s last post on this page.
