Gypsy: It looks like Black never got a strategic handle on the game; got steadily outplayed move by move.
Nov-04-14  haydn20: Typical slow English. White does a nice job isolating and eventually winning the c-Pawn and, shortly, the game.

Yep, this is how a 2790 beats a 2690.

SteinitzLives: Space advantage, then pawn structure advantage, then space advantage, good trades, better king position, desperate moves by an opponent, passed pawns, and it's 1-0

I have seen wins of this type on the Q side not only in the English, but in Catalans too.

Nov-04-14  galdur: Soviet school.

Nice and effortless win.

Nov-05-14  paavoh: One could regard this as a model game. Very nice indeed.
