Maybe he could try 9.bxd7 and stay a pawn down. But against a ~300+ rated player would be a torture.

Maybe a good player like yourself could manage a draw against a lesser player. But still, playing a 2500+ player looks unappealing even before siting in the chair. lol

  perfidious: Actually had the position as Black once after move six, via a very different order of moves: 1.e4 e6 2.Nf3 c5 3.Nc3 Nc6 4.Bb5 Nd4 5.Nxd4 cxd4 6.Ne2 Qg5, but my 2300 opponent avoided 7.Nxd4.

It was not so easy playing those 2500 players.
