Sokrates: Wild and entertaining game. EES really wanted to run over the old champ, but Karpov kept cool. Great battle!

keypusher: Sveshnikov is older than Karpov. The geezers are letting it all hang out, though, that's for sure.
Jul-08-15  saturn2: After 16 Ke4? white was down two sacrificed pieces. With 18 Qxc6 he could have regained one piece, but I think it was lost anyway.

thegoodanarchist: Sveshy was too optimistic. His position was not so strong as to survive the speculative sacrifice of two minor pieces.

But credit AK for defending accurately.

Jul-09-15  ASchultz: Always good to see what Tony Miles called the "Irish Pawn Center" after Black's 16th.
Jul-09-15  waustad: <The geezers are letting it all hang out> I resemble that remark, though sadly my game is not at this level.
Jul-10-15  ToTheDeath: You can't bulldoze Karpov. He's just too good. As Kasparov learned you have to build slowly then let loose with the kitchen sink.
