Dec-30-15  Nina Myers: So's cookie-qatar approach

#75 ...

and counting ...

Dec-31-15  Ayaend: A big game bye Yu ! And nice win vs So a strong player, congrats.
Jan-08-16  dunamisvpm: Okay lang... no problem... what's important is, it's a nice game.Mabuhay Pilipinas! GOD Bless
Jan-08-16  epistle: If losing is ok lang and not a problem why was he begging for a perpetual?
May-06-16  epistle: Let us just relive this moment for the fans of Mr. Excitement so at least they can stay awake. Lulz.
May-07-16  epistle: Yu Yangyi, the owner of Wesley So, seems to be teaching Ding Liren how to co-own Mr. Excitement
Jul-27-16  kamagong24: crabs galore in this game!
im not surprised these crablets know NOTHING about playing any game for that matter

so, to help them rid some of their IGNORANCE, eka nga ni PACMAN:

'' It's just a GAME. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.''

a plain and simple medicine to cure IGNORANCE AND STUPIDITY!!!

piltdown man: How DARE these pampered goldfish feature a loss by the chosen one?
Jul-27-16  Pulo y Gata: Lemmings lesson no.1: if he loses, it is just a game. If he wins, it is a masterpiece and an immortal (even if it is only blitz).

Crablets observe the tides and hide safely inside their holes when the water comes. Lemmings jump off the cliff and perish.

Jul-27-16  eaglewing: 39. Kh3 Rd6 would still have been very drawish.
Jul-27-16  The Kings Domain: This is a classic example of Oriental patience and faith. The game is almost buddhist-like in white's serenity and belief in eventual victory.

Nice to see the pun is taken from one of my fave tunes from the golden age of Pop. :-)

Jul-27-16  JonathanJ: a small trap was
50. e4? Rh5+
51. Kg4 Nf6+
Jul-27-16  kamagong24: if some of Wesley's games deserve to be called an immortal because of its depth and brilliance even blitz games then why not??? and i dont call every Wesley's wins as a masterpiece or an immortal

a proven LIAR deserves NOTHING

...avoid loud and aggressive persons, for they are vexations to the spirit -desiderata

:)

Jul-27-16  Ironmanth: Thanks for this one! Yields fruit with study. Great depth and pristine maneuvers. What an amazing game is our chess, everyone!
Jul-27-16  Pulo y Gata: It is the crablets, however, who go placidly amidst the noise and the haste. Not the lemmings.

The lemmings panic, and go suicidal.

The poem also does not say "vexations to the spirit" but "vexatious to the spirit."

Lemmings...

Jul-27-16  Virgil A: The difficulty of Black goes even before 20...Qe6.

What is the best way to develop Black's LSB?

Amid the presence of White's fianchettoed Bishop and pawn on b4.

At the end of the day, White outplayed Black in the endgame.

Jul-27-16  kevin86: The three advanced extra pawns are much more powerful than a knight!
Jul-27-16  truepacifism: The moral of the importance of pawns can be a metaphor of how little things can be big deals. Pennies add up to larger sums.

Another title for this (and other simliar chess games) might be "Those Pesky Little Pawns"

Keyser Soze: Nice pun and great fighting game.
Jul-27-16  Jack Bauer: The best cure is <prevention>. I can recommend a <hazmat> suit for every occasion.

eternaloptimist: I think 1 of the main factors that led to So's demise in this game is that his ♕side ♖ was passive for the vast majority of this game. A better try would've been 31...♖d1!. Then So would've been on offense (instead of defense) shortly after this move. I think So would've had a pretty good shot to even *win* this game by going after Yangyi Yu's ♙s to try to create a passed ♙ (if he could've gotten the ♕s off the board).

eternaloptimist: Also I'd like to say that I like this pun that's based off of "these paws are made for walkin'" & that Yangyi Yu did a good job of implementing patience in the endgame to get the victory.
Nov-09-18  Pulo y Gata: great game by yu
Nov-09-18  kardopov: You mean you young yee is really better and should be perched above board?
Nov-09-18  Pulo y Gata: I mean it is no rocket science to know that you cannot be better than someone you can't beat
