MissScarlett: Found this 'new' game in the unheralded <Devon and Exeter Daily Gazette>, so it was likely picked up from somewhere else. The date or score of the simul aren't given but the venue - the Hotel Cecil - allows it to be identified as the one Capa gave to members of the Maccabean Society in London on October 22nd. (http://www.chesshistory.com/winter/...)

Black is simply identified as <Jacobs>, but is probably Herbert Levi Jacobs. His resolute play deserved a better fate, but just one slip (41...Kf8 or ...Kd6 keeps the balance) spells disaster.

Jul-16-17  Whitehat1963: Brilliant finish!!
