Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-06-18  morfishine: Nice game by Hou! Good to see her racking up some victories after her disappointing Tata Steel endeavor
Feb-06-18  Ulhumbrus: 14 Qd1 threatens 15 Bd2 attacking the knight defended by the black queen which defends as well the d4 pawn, and so overworking the black queen and as undermining the d4 pawn. One alternative is to seek relief by 14...Nfd7 but black lacks time for that as on 15 Nxd7 Qxd7 16 Ne5 attacks the queen as well as Black's queen's rook. Black is already in difficulties then and this suggests that 13...Na5 is mistaken and then 13...Nxe5 14 Nxe5 Rc8 is better.

offramp: First of all it's "Get me Karpov the World Champion", then it's "Get me a Karpov-the-World-Champion type" and finally it's "Karpov-Hou".
Dec-28-18  AlicesKnight: I like the calm way Hou deals with the Q-side. The Black Rs look good on the c-file but 26.Nc5 splits them, and after the exchanges on a4 she doesn't grab the P but instead forces off the Qs - the weak Ps are not going anywhere and the R on the 7th dominates the board.
Dec-28-18  Ironmanth: Great game!
Dec-28-18  Nichth: Love the comment by offramp - very clever!

HeMateMe: Nice pun dude. We seemed to have an 'English' theme here, for a few days.
