An Englishman: Good Evening: Donít ignore the draws, if only for the strange position after move 4 (!).

Chessdreamer: PGN file requires correction. Played <2...Nf6>, not 2...f6. The game went 75 moves.

An Englishman: Good Evening: And that, <Chessdreamer>, is a terrible shame. If the CG database is correct, no one has *ever* played 2...f6. Seriously. In 2019, it remains possible to leave theory on the 2nd move.

It's possible to leave theory on the <1st> move. For example, no one has ever played 1.Nf3 a5. The only white move where black has responded in all 20 ways possible is 1.e4. 1.d4 has 19 - missing 1...g5 (interestingly enough, 1.e4 b5 was the 20th move to be played).

Jan-19-19  Granny O Doul: 2...f6 makes an amount of sense. We are planning ...e5, so White probably plays 3. d4. Now ...Bg4, and if 4. Bg2 (now that we have prevented any Ne5), then ...Qd7.

An Englishman: Good Evening: <Penguincw>, we should enter a tournament together so we can play these lines and get them named after us.

We should! Given our avatars, any new line we play, should be called the "Bird Opening".

Oh wait...
