Aug-10-19  Helloween: Amazing battle
Aug-11-19  csmath: High quality game. Surprisingly good from Ding Liren in rapid, he got Carlsen on a leash and did not relinquish the advantage.

tpstar: White to Play and Win after 42 ... Qxh5.

Tough fight.

Aug-11-19  Pedro Fernandez: A superior and outstanding game by Liren compared with the other Carlsen's challenger, i.e. Caruana. IMHO Carlsen lost because of he was too much aggressive without some strong reason. But Liren deserves all the worth!

MissScarlett: Carlsen's first loss in 24 rapid games since Zubov vs Carlsen, 2018 (which was his third loss in the opening seven rounds); since then he'd scored +12 =11.
Aug-11-19  ex0duz: Ding would be perfect challenger for carlsens WC title..

Carlsen may have beat Ding handily last rapid/blitz match but Ding has probably improved since then immensely.

Come on Ding, make us Chinese proud!

AylerKupp: I liked Carlsen's 31...Qd3 in a Rapid game, presumably with both players low on time. If 32.Qxb6 (my first thought) 32...axb6 33.c8=Q Qe2 and White is busted. Who can resist a queen sac, even if it is a sham one, against the world champion? I guess that's why Ding Liren was invited to play in this event and I wasn't.
Aug-11-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: Move 43 looks like a great puzzle.

An Englishman: Good Afternoon: Did 24...Qe7, allowing the White Knight the c6 square, constitute the best move?
Aug-11-19  Hokey pokey: Great rapid game by DL. Look how strong you have to play to win against Magnus!
