May-07-20  TheaN: Somehow I was looking at the game line (up till resignation) to start off with, but managed to get myself going away from it failing to realize Black has no answer to both Qxa8 and Bc5; in fact, pretty much no answer to a complete simplification with a piece down. After playing the line out completely again, I noticed it's easily winning.

May-07-20  Boerboel Guy: Once a farmer, always a farmer! (boere = farmers, in Afrikaans).

beatgiant: 10...Qa5 was refuted already in R Edouard vs A Bachmann, 2008, and based on the opening explorer the book move there is 10...Bc6, while 10...0-0 was tried in E Blomqvist vs A Tukhaev, 2017 with what looked like a playable game.

beatgiant: Oops, got it backwards above R Edouard vs A Bachmann, 2008 followed this game, not the other way round.
May-07-20  Damenlaeuferbauer: India's greatest chess player in history, the immortal Viswanathan "Speedy Vishy" Anand, finally found the temporary exchange sacrifice 19.Re8+!,Qxe8 20.Qxd6+,Qe7 21.Qxc6 +-, threatening 22.Qxa8 and 22.Bc5.
May-07-20  thegoodanarchist: Black's name is given as <I B de Souza>

Had he won, we could have the following pun:

I B de Souzerain.

May-07-20  Cheapo by the Dozen: Stockfish thinks things got bad when Black omitted castling and played 10 ... Qa5 instead.

May-07-20  Everett: I love these two-movers, where the lack of piece coordination is so clear.
May-07-20  Everett: Also I would think 12.Bb5 is a fun move to play

scormus: <Cheapo> Yes, It didn't look good for B after 10 .... Qa5?! I wonder if he panned O-O-O but was not prepared for W's quick-acting play. After 12 Bb5, B should have accepted the situation with ... Qxb5. 12 ... Nxd5 simply made things worse, allowing W to cut B's position wide open, right down the middle.
May-07-20  AlicesKnight: <3PawnAttack: It looks like from move 11 black is losing by force> Right; there really is the figure in the marble, but <jith1207> is also right - to see it that far back, that's what makes me envious... I just found it from where it was...
May-07-20  Predrag3141: Something like 17 … f6 18 Re6 Qd8 would have held out longer.
May-07-20  King.Arthur.Brazil: I guess this one is easy, since I found it quicky and directly, with no error! lgs.

Check It Out: <gawain> Same. I saw the game line up to that point but could not figure out the killing blow.
May-07-20  mel gibson: <May-07-20 mel gibson: The first 3 moves are very easy - I saw them in about 5 seconds.

Stockfish 11 says mate in 21:>

Does anyone appreciate that I take the time to load the game into Stockfish 11 and present the results?

May-07-20  stacase: <mel gibson: Does anyone appreciate that I take the time to load the game into Stockfish 11 and present the results?>

I'm sure there are those that do, I assume if you're really interested in what some over 3500 rated engine says you can find out how to load it. By the way my short search says Stockfish has a CCRL Rating: 3564 & CEGT Rating: 3512 whatever those are.

Me? I'm happy to get the 1st move.

On of those little maxims when you post says, "The hardest game to win is the the won game" and that certainly applies when it's 21 moves out. Fewer of course if the other side screws up. Losing a won game is ignominious and a draw is just as bad.

Thanks and you are correct.
Some of the wins on here require perfect play
which is very easy to muck up.
