Jun-27-22  Ulhumbrus: Instead of 9...d6, 9...0-0 prepares to answer the potential threat of f2-f4 by ...d5.

If 20...Qxb2 gives White time to prevent Black from castling by Qf2 and Bc5, 20...Qe5 may be more advisable.

Jun-27-22  ndg2: Great little game, gives Alireza the first full point.
Jun-28-22  jerseybob: <Ulhumbrus: Instead of 9...d6, 9...0-0 prepares to answer the potential threat of f2-f4 by ...d5.(Agreed) If 20...Qxb2 gives White time to prevent Black from castling by Qf2 and Bc5, 20...Qe5 may be more advisable.> Even so, without the dark bishop black's in trouble. 21.Qb4 looks strong.

fredthebear: There was plenty of action in this one. Black gets a couple extra pawns but a much worse position that is inflexible. Wouldn't you know that the castled king wins, and ...f6 loses? It was White that controlled the half-open f-file and took advantage of the pinned f6-pawn that could not defend the e5-square.
