Feb-29-04 | | ConLaMismaMano: Is this a canadian prodigy? he was born in 88'. |
Feb-29-04 | | refutor: yes...i believe he's still the youngest international master in north america (i believe GM nakamura is older than him). he had a great start to aeroflot, beating vladimir belov, and dolmatov and then drawing inarkiev (above) to be amongst the leaders at 2.5/3, but then he fell off. he will most likely be canada's next GM (after pascal charbonneau who already has his norms and just needs to get his rating over 2500) |
Feb-29-04 | | Bitzovich: I know Mark in person.. he is nice guy, (in grade 10 now, i believe) and for all i know, he has a lot of GM potential. |

 | | IMlday: A remarkable result from the young prodigy! I suspect the Shirov game was very well prepared beforehand. |
Jul-18-05 | | CdnPathfinder: I second refutor. A Bluvshtein - Nakamura match would be awesome. |
Jul-18-05 | | Montreal1666: Well you guys have to contact the proper Canadian chess autorities and ask them to initiate such a match. Have anyobody here met Bluvshtein in person? Is he 17 years old now? |
Jul-18-05 | | aw1988: I third that match. |
Jul-18-05 | | CdnPathfinder: From the FIDE site, Mark's DOB is Apr 20, 1988 (17 years old). Don't know him personally, but have seen him play live. Seems like a nice enough young man. http://www.fide.com/ratings/card.ph...
Jul-18-05 | | Montreal1666: The photo in chessbase article makes him look older than 17. Are there more photo's somewhere? |
Jul-18-05 | | CdnPathfinder: here's a link to some photos taken in rd 9. Mark's the guy wearing the yellow shirt at one of the head tables. http://www.pbase.com/tracyk/chess_r... |
