| Dec-07-07 | | StevenUS: It's great to see this webpage alive again!!! The quest goes on. |
| Dec-07-07 | | rainbowxpress: Congrats to chess players like GM Paragua, newly-polished GM So, GM Torre, GM Antonio, IM Sadorra, et.al. for playing well in 3rd Pichay Cup. We expect a resurgence of Chess in the country after your collective exploits. Thanks also to Mr. Pichay, a no-nonesense leader, for patiently nurturing our chess talents to become where they are now. With his leadership, we expect more new talents from the ranks of untitled players, to emerge from our midst. |
| Dec-09-07 | | reginjanice: yep. i think GM Paragua is recovering his footing. trashing PGMA Cup champ Li Chao in 20 moves or so was simply amazing! slowly but surely Mark i wish you all the best on your climb back to super-GM status. bdw, thanks for the photo op with now GM So and Im Bitoon in Round 6 of the Pichay Cup. i'm showing it to my friends like crazy hehe |
| Jan-13-08 | | kramrich: mark is off to a rousing start...4/4 in a round robin tourney in indonesia...cmon mark, pick up those precious elo pints towards 2600 again! |
| Jan-17-08 | | Cmaster: grabeh...no one can beat Paragua sa ASEAN MASTERS CIRCUITS...pagpatuloy mo lng yan pre,at tiyak babangon na naman ang pangalan mo sa dyaryo.. |
| Jan-21-08 | | Dindo: Congrats Mark sa pagkakapanalo mo. Sana may picture ka rin, katulad ni GM SO sa profile mo. |
| Jan-22-08 | | rainbowxpress: hey! with the achievements of our chess players, surely Team Philippines is gaining grounds to become the no. 1 chess team in south east asia and in the process inching in closer to the super powers like China and India. Common guys! Keep up the good works and ignore the antics of Estimo, et.al. |
| Jan-22-08 | | gebeck: Congratulations to Mark. Keep it up!!.In time, you and Wesley So will
carry the banner for our beloved
country.

| Feb-04-08 | | Pinoychess: GM Paragua and GM-candidate Sadorra confirmed their participation in the coming Aeroflot Open... http://pinoychess.informe.com/forum... |
| Feb-13-08 | | rainbowxpress: I learned that GM Paragua did not show up on time hence was replaced by IM Gomez. Anyone knows the reason for GM Paragua's no show? |
| Feb-13-08 | | kramrich: yes i saw it too...too bad, mark had the momentum after the indonesian open
NCFP should concentrate also on developing our top talents to become world class players (2600+ rating at least) and not just making them GM's...it would be a waste if we have 10GM';s for instance but none is in the top 200 in the world at least...i think the highest rated player we have now, GM antonio (around 2539 i guess), would not be even ranked in the top 350... |

| Apr-01-08 | | gebeck: any idea about the April 1, 2008 FIDE
rankings. The Philippines is not
included. I tried to access it several
times. |
| Apr-01-08 | | StevenUS: They probably have not paid their dues again. What a pity. |
| Apr-03-08 | | gebeck: The FIDE ratings as of April 1, 2008 for the chess players from the Philippines can now be accessed. Mark Paragua's rating is 2537; which is
second to Wesley So's 2540. |
