International Master (2007). IM Di Berardino's 2nd placement in the Zonal 2.4 championship qualified him to play in the World Cup (2011) where he faced US super-GM Gata Kamsky. He displayed strong resistance, fighting back from a loss in the first game to draw the first round classical match (+1-1). He drew the first game of the rapid game tiebreaker, but finally succumbed in the second game to bow out of the race.
