whiteshark: Puns? What puns, D Hell?
Mar-01-09  WhiteRook48: there is nothing punny about this player
Mar-02-09  Arbiter58: Guys, the game was played in Austria. the guy most probably was Austrian where they speak German.

In German 'hell' means 'light' as opposed to 'dark'.

So what's the pun?

Mar-02-09  WhiteRook48: The German language is crazy, especially considering this player

alexmagnus: "hell" is not "light" (noun), it's "bright" (adjective). Light is <Licht>.

There is actually a town Hell in the USA which is thought to be named after the German word (in the USA,there are three Hells, there is also one Hell in Norway. But only one of the four Hells derives from the German word).

Mar-03-09  WhiteRook48: no one wants to go here
Jul-25-09  myschkin: . . .
