| Oct-12-07 | | timhortons: jimmy i hope you dont mind ...how much would it cost to play against z polgar? do you need to pay a certain amount for it?id read in fischers simul in the past they pay a certain amount to have a game with him...:)p |
 |
Oct-12-07
 | | WannaBe: <timhortons> Yes, most simuls at the national tournaments costs you minimum 25 American. The local ChessPalace club at times, will invite GMs for lecture, and you'd pay for that, but I believe the simul afterwards is included in the price. http://www.chesspalace.com/events/0... When <whiskeyrebel> played GM Shabalov (Winner of the US Championship, the picture on his page was taken by me, before the Simul began) I believe he paid 30 bucks, and next year, at the 2008 Las Vegas National Open, they've announced that GM Kamsky is doing a 25 board Simul. http://www.vegaschessfestival.com/s... <suenteus po 147> You wanna/gonna play in that Simul? I know how much you admire his play. Be your chance to try him out!! I'm thinking about playing him... Just to get my butt kicked... In the 2007 edition of National Open, besides GM Shabalov, GM V. Korchnoi also gave a Simul, that one sold out rather quickly, and they had to hold a (closed) bidding for the remaining 4 seats. Probably more information than you requested. =) |
 |
| Oct-12-07 | | timhortons: ok thanks for the info...ill watch for any chess events around montreal and see if i well have a chance joining such...i want my butt kick like wise...ill gonna save few bucks for it... |

 | | whiteshark: Good to know <Yu>.
:D |
 |
| Oct-24-07 | | chessmoron: How 'bout a bio? Yu likes Chess. |
 |
Oct-24-07
 | | WannaBe: No, can't do that one, too close to <tpstar>'s bio... Copyright infringement. I like: "He sucks at chess!" Or this one:
"I was born one morning
when the sun didn't shine.
I picked up my Chronos
and I walked to the board.
I played 1. e4 followed
by 2. Ke2
And opponent said
Well bless my soul.
You make 40 moves,
what do you get
another hour on clock
and deeper in thought.
Caissa don't you call me
Cause I can't go.
I owe my soul to chessgames.com"
There, that's a good bio... I like it! |
 |
| Oct-25-07 | | Ragh: <Be> Are Yu sure? I can put your poem into the bio up there. |
 |
Oct-25-07
 | | WannaBe: Oh sure! |
 |
Oct-25-07
 | | WannaBe: Bonus points, if you can tell me who I 'borrowed' those lines from. =) |
 |
| Oct-25-07 | | Resignation Trap: I think you owe royalities to Merle Travis. Must be in US Dollars, souls are no longer acceptable in trade. |
 |
Oct-25-07
 | | WannaBe: Bonus pts goes to <Resignation Trap>!! =) |
 |
| Oct-25-07 | | chessamateur: Fantastic bio User: WannaBe |

 |
Oct-26-07
 | | WannaBe: <tpstar> no, no, picture would definitely scare everyone away... No need to put CG.com through that much torture. |
 |
| Oct-26-07 | | chessmoron: Yes, we definitely need a picture of <Wannabe> wearing a 'Ralphie picking his nose' t-shirt. |
 |
Dec-08-07
