The local ChessPalace club at times, will invite GMs for lecture, and you'd pay for that, but I believe the simul afterwards is included in the price. http://www.chesspalace.com/events/0... When <whiskeyrebel> played GM Shabalov (Winner of the US Championship, the picture on his page was taken by me, before the Simul began) I believe he paid 30 bucks, and next year, at the 2008 Las Vegas National Open, they've announced that GM Kamsky is doing a 25 board Simul. http://www.vegaschessfestival.com/s... <suenteus po 147> You wanna/gonna play in that Simul? I know how much you admire his play. Be your chance to try him out!! I'm thinking about playing him... Just to get my butt kicked... In the 2007 edition of National Open, besides GM Shabalov, GM V. Korchnoi also gave a Simul, that one sold out rather quickly, and they had to hold a (closed) bidding for the remaining 4 seats. Probably more information than you requested. =) |
