Charles John (Karl Johan) George Eastman (Ostman) was born in Stockholm, Sweden. While living in Toronto, Ontario, he tied for 1st-3rd in the 1931 Canadian Championship (scored 9.5/12 with Maurice Fox and John Stuart Morrison at Hamilton). After moving to Detroit, Eastman was Michigan Champion eight times between 1933 and 1952.
