Yiping won his 3 IM norms at the Aeroflot Open A2 in 2009 and 2010, and at the 1st Campomanes Memorial played in August-September 2010. Having qualified via Zonal 3.5, he played US GM Gata Kamsky in the 1st round of the World Cup (2013), losing the first round match after a determined struggle by 3.5-2.5 (=5 -1) in the 2nd set of rapid (10+10) tiebreakers.
