[what is this?]

FM (2011); IM (2012) and GM (2012).

One of Armenia's most promising juniors, Gabuzyan's IM norms stemmed from his results at the Aeroflot Open B in February 2011, the 4th Karen Asrian Memorial in June 2011 and from the 2nd A. Margaryan Memorial in January 2012.* He scored a 20-game GM norm at the 13th European Individual Championship (2012) with his score of 5.5/11, all of his opponents being GMs, and a 9-game norm at the Albena Open (2012) when he scored the requisite 6.5/9.** He came 2nd in the 2012 European U18 Championship, adding enough points to his live rating by round 8 to bring it up to 2500, thereby meeting the final requirement for his GM title. Placed =2nd at the 6th Karen Asrian Memorial 2013 and 2nd at the European U18 Championship 2013 behind Vladimir Fedoseev. Armenian Champion in 2017.

wordfunph: another promising 17-year-old Armenian FM, drawing with monster GM Vladimir Potkin (2669) in EICC..

H Gabuzyan vs Potkin, 2012

Apr-02-12  twinlark: Plus he scored a GM norm just as he's about to have his IM title formally conferred by FIDE.

Congratulations IM Gabuzyan.

GABUZYAN, Hovhannes

Aug-26-12  twinlark: He had a bitter-sweet U18 European Championship campaign. In round 8, he finally reached a live rating of 2500 to bring home his GM title, but dropped his last round game to come second in the championship.
Sep-24-12  sagahelten: He is now a GM. Fast progress...
Oct-09-13  twinlark: 2nd in the European U18 Championship, again.
