JUE WANG
(born Oct-17-1995, 29 years old) China

[what is this?]

WGM (2012); Asian Women's Blitz champion (2018).

Wang Jue won her first three WGM norms at the Chinese Championship (Women) (2011) in April 2011, at the Malaysian Open in August 2011, and at the Asian Women Continental Chess Championship (2012) in May 2012. For some reason her application for the WGM title also included a fourth WGM norm that she won at the Asian Nations Chess Cup, also held in May 2012. (1)

Her first three WGM norms were also sufficient as IM norms. It is unclear why this title was not applied for. (2) In addition, her 5.5/9 result at the 2013 HD Bank Open constituted her fourth IM norm.

May-31-09  hellopolgar: related to wang yue? their names sure sound alike...
May-31-09  soldal: No reason to assume that. Wang is the Chinese Smith or Jones. Two of the five games above are against other Wangs (Yu and Xiaohui).

Feb-26-13  cro777: At the 2012 Asian Continental Chess Championship (Women) in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) Wan Jue, untitled but rated 2364, tied for 2nd-5th places.

This is her picture from this tournament

In 2012, she also participated at the China chess individual tournament group A (Women) and the World Junior Chess Championship (girls under 20).

WannaBe: Saw her yesterday at Santa Clara, <NorCalJim> was there too, along with 2 other Friday night coffee house players.

She is very, very pretty.

Nov-08-15  sonia91: <Her first three WGM norms were also sufficient as IM norms. It is unclear why this title was not applied for.>

Only her performance at Malaysia Open is also an IM norm, as she played with at least 3 IMs or GMs. In the other tournaments there were only WGMs or an insufficient number of IMs. It seems whoever wrote this bio doesn't know how FIDE norms and titles work...
