 | | Annie K.: Thanks, folks! =)
<eightsquare: <i am sure you will get a rating if you play! :) >> So am I! ;) In fact, I have played in some rated rapid tournaments last month, and I'm due for a rating when the September ratings list is published. |

 | | Annie K.: Awww, cute overload. :D
Thanks, <Jess>! :) |

| Aug-20-10 | | minasina: Hi! I know how to fix the broken link in the bio. There should be an extra space after the period. In the URL space is marked as <%20>, thus the URL ending must be: /perl/chessuser?uname=Annie%20K.%20
See:
Going by the screen name User: Annie K. Annie is a frequent contributor to www.chessgames.com. |

 | | twinlark: <minasina>
Ingeniously deduced! It's now fixed. |
 |
| Aug-20-10 | | minasina: Great and thanks! It indeed works! So you, <twinlark> have right to edit bios? |
 |
Aug-20-10
 | | twinlark: Yes I do. |
 |
| Aug-20-10 | | malthrope: <minasina: Hi! I know how to fix the broken link in the bio. There should be an extra space after the period. [...] See:
Going by the screen name User: Annie K. > <minasina> - you get the Gold star! :D <WannaBe> and I tried several times during the prestigious Caissar awards (now held in early January right after the holidays and the Annual 'Present Hunt' contest run by CG.com) to discover the secret on how to link directly to Annie's 'Profile' page. That pesky <.> drove us both nuts! We should have known it could only be the old <%20> trick! ~lol~ ~***~ ~***~ ~***~ ~***~ ~***~ ~***~
Annie - a much belated "Happy Birthday" to You! :XD

Sorry to be such a 'no show' at times. :( It's never <planned> that way -- it just works <out> that way... <sheepish grin exposed again> o_O Anyhoo, I'll be working on the finish of preparing a minimum of 50 Master games ready for upload to my player's and bio page... Still much work to do but I shan't rest until the deed is done! <*grin*> My Best Always, - Mal
PS: <minasina: [...] So you, <twinlark> have right to edit bios?> <twinlark> is so modest! <"Yes I do."> ;) If I may be so bold, here's a recent prime example of his superb editing skills: Grandmaster Alexander Morozevich His player's & bio page completely retooled, revamped & refurbished! :D |

 | | WannaBe: Ingenius solution! Excellent!! (Now the root of the problem, why was that period at the end of the name causing problems? Is it the way perl handles punctuation mark? Or the way CG.com handles things??) |
 |
Aug-21-10
 | | Annie K.: Hi <Mal>! No worries & always nice to hear from you. :) <Larks> thanks for the fix! <WannaBe> I think it's the cg.com formatting. <minasina> thank you, very clever trick! I thought I tried that myself sometime, but apparently not. Thanks. :) |

 | | OhioChessFan: I am not a programmer so this is all speculation, but I think maybe the problem with your user name needing a blank space after the period was that the script recognized that as a decimal point, and not a period. eg, it was expecting Annie_K.314159. Since there was no value after the decimal point, a blank space needed to be input. |
 |
May-11-11
 | | Annie K.: <Ohio> That's another interesting possibility. :) |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | OhioChessFan: Curious about my idea. I think I can test it thus........ User: Annie K.314159 And that works. Tadaaaaaaaa |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | OhioChessFan: User: Annie K. 314159 |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | OhioChessFan: User: Annie K.K So it need not be a numeric value after the period. I'm back to not being sure now. |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: If the . comes last, CG interprets it as a full stop after the link... but if there's something after it, CG realizes it's part of the link. |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | SwitchingQuylthulg: Of course the "something" doesn't have to be %20 - anything that doesn't mess the link up will do. For example: User: Annie K. |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | OhioChessFan: If it is a full stop, why does there have to be some value after it? I am sort of leaning toward there must be some succeeding value, alphabetic or numeric, since the . is interpreted as a decimal point and a subsequent value is expected. If there is no subsequent value, then the %20 must be entered. |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | OhioChessFan: Hmmm. Why don't the &Imust values appear in that last link? |
 |
Jul-04-11
 | | OhioChessFan: I am guessing that in % terms, Annie has the most posts to her player page discussing punctuation. Or is that in %20 terms? |
