sonia91: Marina just became Italy's newest WGM (and the first homegrown one), having earned her final norm at European Team Championship (Women) (2015) thanks to her 2497 performance, which earned her also the bronze medal on board 3:

Oct-05-18  Gallicrow: WGM with a rating of 2272. Shows how worthless the women's titles are. They should be scrapped now - plenty of women get the real titles and if a woman is not strong enough to earn the IM title then FM is well respected and better than this WGM, WIM and, heaven help me, WFM nonsense.

sonia91: <Gallicrow> What an ignorant comment...There are plenty of GMs below 2500, IMs below 2400, FM below 2300 etc. And FYI she is also a FM and mind that WGM title has more requirements than FM: WGM also needs 3 norms, besides a 2300+ rating.

Congratulations to Marina on winning the gold medal on board 4 at 43rd Chess Olympiad (Women) (2018)!
