Woman Candidate Master Yelizaveta (Liza) Orlova won the Canadian U18 Women's Youth chess championship. She won the 2009 and 2010 Ontario Women's U16 Youth Chess Championships and the 2008 Ontario (combined) Women's U16 and Women's U14 Youth Chess Championship. Previously, she won the 2007 Canadian Women's U14 Youth Chess Championship (later scoring 6/11 in her (women's) U-14 WYCC event in 2007 (7)), the 2006 Ontario Women's U12 Youth Chess Championship, the 2005 Canadian and Ontario Women's U12 Youth Chess Championship and the 2004 Ontario Women's U10 Youth Chess Championship (2, 4). She represented the Chess Olympiad (Women) (2010) Canadian team on 4th board (3 wins & a draw tallied a score of 3.5 in 8 games played), returned to the Chess Olympiad (Women) (2012) (finishing with 5 wins and a draw in 9 games played) in Turkey (5), and plays for the Annex club in Toronto (3). In 2010, she was also the Toronto Women's Champion and User: lizaorlova sometimes can be found chatting about her games. At Brazil, she finished with 4/9 at the U-18 women's category in the 2011 World Youth Chess Championship. Her father Sergiy Orlov also plays chess. She plans on moving to Seattle in the summer of 2016.
