| Apr-02-07 | | Dr.Lecter: Too bad <yoozum> doesn't have a forum. We could have talked, or demanded of him, on his forum, where he's sure to see at some point. |
| Apr-02-07 | | NakoSonorense: chesspeople are weird... o_O |
| Apr-06-07 | | Chess Classics: And with that, awkward silence ensues...

 | | TheAlchemist: I fear this page has long ago crossed the point of no return, it's beyond salvation... |
| Apr-06-07 | | Chess Classics: <TheAlchemist> Yeah, I know, but it's kinda sad, since it used to be one of the best places on the site. I mean, eventually all great pages putter to a stop (hopefully with the exception of Beer), but even so, couldn't we perpetuate it? Echt, I'm ranting.

| Apr-07-07 | | chessamateur: <CC, TheAlchemist> You got any more stories left in you two? P.S. I will try again when I have a bit of time! |

| Apr-11-07 | | Chess Classics: <chessamateur> I'm afraid I've got writers block when it comes to good Moscow stories. You try again, though. Regards,

| Apr-12-07 | | Dr.Lecter: <Dr.Lecter> vs. Kasparov <Dr.Lecter> plays Kasparov in a rapid game. In a najdorf line Kasparov is familiar with, Black launches a furious attack. Kasparov sacs a knight to open lines to attack. <Dr.Lecter> sacs 2 pawns to fend off the attack, then gives back a knight to launch an attack himself. He accidentally overlooks a simple fork by black when making the sac, and Kasparov brings his knight up claim the advantage. He brings the knight down with such a force that it destroys the squares e4,d5,and c5. White ignores the threat by the fork and takes a guarded pawn with a bishop. While putting away the captured pawn, <Dr.Lecter> accidentally drops the pawn in Kasparov's cup of coffee. Kasparov takes a sip and chokes on the pawn. Short comes in and starts giving mouth-to-mouth. Kasparov punches Nigel away, and Nigel bumps into Polgar, who was walking by. She slugs Short, who bumps into Leko, now. Leko, Polgar, and Short go out in an all out melee. Kasparov continues choking on the pawn. <Dr.Lecter> calculates a queen sacrifice. After few minutes, Leko offers a draw. |

| Apr-16-07 | | Dr.Lecter: <Dr.Lecter> vs <arandomguyfromplaychess> <Dr.Lecter> logs on to playchess on his computer. He starts playing against a guy whose ID is <IamnotBobbyFischer>. <Dr.Lecter> loses after a furious attack by <IANBF>. <Dr.Lecter> demands a rematch, which he loses again. Another rematch. Another loss. <Dr.Lecter> is angry and asks who <IANBF> is. <IANBF> replies "I am not Bobby Fischer..." <Dr.Lecter> is so angry he plays <IANBF> again and sacs all his pieces except his light squared bishop. <IANBF> blunders and loses. This time, <IANBF> demands a rematch. They play all night, and after 37 hours and 34 minutes of consecutive rapid chess games, the score is 62.5 to 61.5, <IANBF>'s advantage. In their last game, however, <Dr.Lecter> gains advantage. But a second before the final combination, Alexandra Kosteniuk comes in naked. <Dr.Lecter> is distracted and blunders and loses. <IANBF> types "LOL" and logs out. <Dr.Lecter> is so angry he throws Kosteniuk out the window and assembles an angry mob to burn Kosteniuk at stake. He slips into his Ferrari and takes out his anger by running over everyone he sees, except the mob who is chasing Kosteniuk. |
| Apr-16-07 | | Dr.Lecter: <author's note:>
The author does not have a playchess account. He wishes he does. He also does not have a Ferrari. He wishes he does. He also never played <IANBF> He wishes he did. He also never met Kosteniuk naked. He wishes he d... Actually, he doesn't wish that. |
| Apr-19-07 | | Chess Classics: <Dr.Lecter> Woah. So you really did assemble a mob to burn Kosteniuk at the stake then!? And you ran all those people over?! Regards,
CC |
| Apr-22-07 | | Dr.Lecter: <CC> She deserved it... And besides I don't have a Ferrari to run people over with. Would it be too much to say I wish I did? |
| Apr-24-07 | | Dr.Lecter: Kramnik vs <Dr.Lecter> Kramnik plays 1.d4 and offers draw. <Dr.Lecter> thinks rather to accept or decline the draw for a long time. When he finally looks up with a decision, there's ten seconds left on his clock. <Dr.Lecter> accepts. |
| Apr-24-07 | | chessamateur: <Dr.Lecter> Always enjoy your mini chessplaying stories with today's elite. When College lets out in early May I intend to continue my story with Episode 2 and beyond. |
| Apr-30-07 | | Dr.Lecter: On your profile, I read that you beat someone who has beaten Bobby Fischer. Were you talking about THE Bobby Fischer, or some other Bobby Fischer. If it was THE Bobby Fischer, who DID you beat? |
| May-01-07 | | chessamateur: <Dr.Lecter> Yes it is THE Bobby Fischer I'm talking about. The guy I beat was Lew Hucks
I know him, as I belong to the same chess club as him. He plays all over the Washington D.C. area and still at his age is very active. Nice guy too. |
| May-01-07 | | gus inn: Once I met Kasparov. On the board. And I started out with a TN of enormously importance: 1.Be3 !!??!!.Illegal move - he claimed.OK - sometimes the beast of Baku is right. And I could not move the king , as the rules stipulated. But why not 1.Be3 again ? And so it happened: 2.Be3! : "wrong move!" shouted the Bakuboy. So all over again. And suddenly I saw the whole picture , playing 3.Be3!! and claiming a draw - due to threefoldrepetition - signing the scoresheeet - leaving the room immediatly. And nobody ever heard about me since.
And the other guy : He soon quitted chess.
So the moral of the story ?? Oh , yes :
1.Bc4 would have been an inaccuracy because of 1.-d5 , leaving the black side slightly better. |

Well, I almost drew Maurice Ashley in Ashley vs L Allen, 2006 , while Maurice drew Joel Benjamin in J Benjamin vs Ashley, 1997. Benjamin drew Karpov in J Benjamin vs Karpov, 2000. So when you think about it, I would probably come pretty close to drawing Karpov on any given day. Given that Karpov's game has fallen apart in the last 6 years, I'd even stand a good chance of beating him. Regards,
