[what is this?]
Bersamina won his FIDE Master title when he won the 11th ASEAN+ Age Group Chess Championship for the U12 division in Olongapo City in June 2010.

In 2010, at the age of 12 years 3months 23 days, he became the youngest player ever to win the National Junior Championship. He went on to win the 2nd Singapore International Youth Championships 2011 - Open U14 with 8/9. Jul-01-12  spartan1998: Thank you very much po! Sayang po at mabagal ang c3 kanina, akala po namin sa Rob lang mabagal, pati kina Sirs Bubuli at Nf3em at Sir Metrolirot ay mabagal din.

Sir Morph thanks po sa complete school supplies!

Sir PM77 and CM and Daniel, thanks for coming!

Kuya Francis of The Brown Man Diary also watched the first round games.

Salamat po ulit!

Jul-01-12  MORPHYEUS: Thank you so much, <spartan1998> at pinaunlakan mo kami. Mabait na mag-ama kayo. We really enjoyed discussing Paulo and chess with you.

Thanks to PM77 who came with his two sons. Thanks to Bubuli, Metrolirot and Nf3em for grazing the event.

We hope to bring more internet events starring Paulo in the future.

Jul-02-12  pinoymaster77: Posted the pics in FB, and tagged those in the pics and joeyj...

All the best to Pau on the rest of the exams under home study and the forthcoming NCAA Chess event sometime in August...

So, from last week of July (submission of line-ups) up to the tourney end sometime in Sept, eh Pau and other NCAA players cannot play in other tournaments...

Jul-02-12  joeyj: OK lang yan bro <PM77> for the time being for Pau ... studies + HS/college chess, yan na muna priorities to satisfy scholarship. Other bigger & selective tournaments will come in pag may window or opportunity to play ! Part of growing up !

Jul-03-12  pinoymaster77: Nice one joeyj!

Maybe when the NCAA line-ups are out later this month, eh can do a 'pre-season assessment'... just like what they do for basketball...

Jul-19-12  pinoymaster77: Look forward to seeing Pau & his Letran teammates in their uniforms. Maybe after the teams' meeting at end of month, eh maka-access na sa school line-ups...
Aug-08-12  pinoymaster77: Weather permitting, next week na ata start ng NCAA chess and reportedly 3 to 4x per week ang play...

Meantime, nice feature on the Yugoslav Attack vs the Dragon in metrolirot's blogspot, a nice piece for dragon practitioners...

Aug-13-12  spartan1998: Good evening po!

Sir PM77,nakita po ni nanay yung FB post nyo. Kuya Josef just got my ncaa uniform this afternoon.

Aug-13-12  pinoymaster77: Ok, meron nang chess schedules. We're praying for Pau and Letran Knights! Arriba! Mukhang pati sa College eh mag-contend, it's wide open.

San Beda sa rd1, its 4x a week sked pero ok yan sa skeds ni Pau...

Aug-13-12  pinoymaster77: Round 1 on 2012/08/14 at 1:30-5:30pm
No. SNo. Team Res. Team SNo.

1 1 CSB - LPU 10 St Benilde

2 2 SSCR - UPHSD 9 San Sebastian

3 3 MIT - JRU 8 A Toss-up

4 4 CSJL - SBC 7 Letran

5 5 AU - EAC 6 Arellano

AFGM Eugene will do the opening talk, sana may video ulit na ma-publish.

To spice up the opening round, I put up my 'forecast' above...

For Letran Jrs, Baltazar & Cabida manned the top 2 boards, and even contended strongly for the title last yr vs San Sebastian. Letran has since recruited FM Paulo as ace and veteran Age Grouper/ STCAA player Alexis Osena of Quezon, while San Sebastian's aces Cristobal & Coronel have graduated and joined the UP Maroons College team...

Probably, the school that has the materials to put up a decent fight would be the Arellano Baby Chiefs with its veteran core of Caranyagan,Canape,Viernes, Llantada

With 1 or 2 mainstays are previous contenders St Benilde (NM Mejia) and San Sebastian (Bonifacio & added Cunanan bros)

San Beda had a renewed recruitment campaign under new coach Idle Datu, while Lyceum has joined the fold to make it an even 10 team field...

Aug-14-12  pinoymaster77: Sa Juniors, Letran won 3.5-0.5 with a draw in Bd4 by Letran's Mary Joyce Fuerte with San Beda freshman Alanan.

The college team was held to a 2-2 draw.

On Sat (rd4) ang 'Battle of Young Masters' nila NM Mejia and FM Paulo, wishing awake eh makahiram sana DGT board for livegame coverage ahehe...

Aug-14-12  SugarDom: Wow, this is a real rivalry pinoymaster77. A grudge match between the 14 year old masters.
Aug-14-12  bubuli55: Good luck Pau ! Enjoy your games:)
Aug-14-12  pinoymaster77: Maigi na required na a titled player be placed in top board, so that we will get to see a good game.

For other schools naman on their board assignments, still figuring out the logic, but I guess we can only confirm once they have fielded their line-ups when facing their opponents...

4x a week play, mabilis nga eto, means in about 2 weeks' time, tapos na isang round robin...
