Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-23-19  Lovuschka: I will press X to doubt that Albert Hild is still alive. Some background info in German is available online at the Schachbund page (see sources below).

According to this, Hild was a teacher from Ohrdruf (the name is funny if you understand German), he - not mentioned there, but in the Deutsche Schachzeitung 1928 - took Oskar Korschelt's collection of chess problems in 1928 (the collection however had only problems dated up to 1912). As Hild's collection was destroyed with the house he lived in during a bomb raid on 6 February 1944 by the US military, likely Korschelt's collection of over 80,000 handwritten pieces of paper were also lost there.

Hild worked for the Deutscher Schachbund (German Chess Federation) as Schriftführer (secretary) from 1910 to 1932, which is why he got Korschelt's collection. At the same time - middle of the year 1910 to September 1932 - Hild was publisher of the "Deutsche Schachblätter". Later he was briefly famous for being the main arbiter of the Alekhine - Bogoljubov World Championship Rematch (1934) between the champion Alexander Alekhine and Efim Bogoljubov.
