Aug-12-07  Mavro: In June 1912 Sydney Eugene Gale (then living in British Guiana) played a series of 10-second-a-move games with A.W. McArthur (at the Westmount CC) - losing 10.5-4.5.
Aug-12-07  Mavro: In February 1913 Toronto beat Montreal 5.5-4.5 in a telegraph match, with Dr. A.W. McArthur losing Sydney Eugene Gale in their game.

  GrahamClayton: Sydney Gale finished =1st in the 1920 Canadian Championship with Captain JB Harvey, but abandoned the play-off match after two games. Gale also won the Toronto Closed Championship title three times.
