Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-22-14  ConLaMismaMano: According to GM Slipak, IM Alan Pichot is the biggest Argentine talent of the last 30 years (a view shared by the majority of Argentine masters).

Pichot is currently playing the world youth U16. He shares first place with the number one seed after the fourth round with perfect score.

Sep-29-14  fmartelli: Congratulations Alan on winning the World Youth U16. As a fellow Argentinean, you make me proud!
Sep-29-14  ConLaMismaMano: The Argentine International Master Alan Pichot, became World Champion in the under 16 section and also won his first GM norm.

Fusilli: He is playing at Tradewise Gibraltar (2015).

Feb-05-15  dumbgai: 0/4 against GMs, 5.5/6 against a bunch of weakies. Clearly nowhere near the class of Wei Yi, who would have mopped the floor with that field if he had bothered with the U16 world championship.
Feb-05-15  fisayo123: <dumbgai> Most of the really top young players don't even play the U16 & U18 World championship.

Fusilli: <fisayo123> <dumbgai> Well, yeah. But he's still young. He's learning.
Feb-06-15  Troller: He had an uneven tournament in Gibraltar, his opponents either +2600 or <2350. He might have learned, but result-wise he would be better off with opponents in the 24-2500 range at the moment.

<dumbgai> Even players not as talented as Wei Yi can be fine players and deserving of kibitzing. I am sure Alan would <mop the floor> with you should you ever meet him OTB. Same goes for me, by the way.
