Phony Benoni: Can he be identified as <F J Rundle> of St. Louis who played in the `1904 Western Championship in that city? (No toher information about Rundle, and no games.)

Game Collection: US Open 1904, Saint Louis = 5th Western Champ.

Tabanus: St. Louis 1903 and 1904 directories: John T. Rundel, Frederick Runde, Edw. Rundle, John W Rundle, Walter Rundle, and William Rundle. I find no "F J Rundle" at all in the whole of USA.

Hmm. And Fred Rundell lives in Norton, Kansas both in 1900 and 1905.

Phony Benoni: And Norton is about 600 miles from St. Louis. OK, definitely two different people. Thanks for checking.

Tabanus: There's a certain chance F J Rundle is a mistake in the basis report for F J Rundell. Even with "of St. Louis".

I guess we'll never know.
