Karpova: N. R. Joshi won a tournament in Chail, India in May/June 1925 with 10.5 points ahead of Borislav Kostic (10 points) and Kishanlal (9.5 points).

In B Kostic vs N R Joshi, 1925 Kostic had to win to obtain first prize but failed to do so.

  Karpova: From C.N. 7528

There is a discrepancy regarding the tournament held in Chail (Patiala Princely State) from 29 May to 13 June 1925:

According to the crosstable, Kostic finished second with 10 points behind Joshi with 10.5 points (as stated in my post above). Kostic instead claimed to have finished tied for first with Joshi ('East African Standard', 19 September 1925)).

Edward Winter: <The matter hinges on whether Kostićís game against S. Kishanlal, who finished third, was a win for Kostić, as he claimed, or only a draw. Can the game-score be found?>

Two 'Chail tournament' games played by S. Kishanlal (Kishan Lal Sharda of Mathura) I found in my database:
