  GrahamClayton: After finishing =2nd in the 1956 Southern Californian Championship, Schain finished 12th and last in the Masters Section of the 1956 Herman Steiner Memorial tournament, with a score of 3/11. The 'California Chess Reporter' mentioned that Schain had got married between the two tournaments, which may have explained his poor showing in the Steiner tournament :-)
