2015: International Master; 2016: Grandmaster(3).
International Master Norms
GM Kelires' first IM norm was at the 3rd International Tournament Isthmia 2013 A Group in August 2013. He scored 7 wins and 4 draws at the Chess Olympiad (2014) scoring a double IM norm. He met the 2400 rating criterion for completion of the IM title on 18 April 2015 when he defeated GM Tamir Nabaty in round eight of the 1st International Open "Eftychios Krommydakis" 2015 staged in Gerani Platanias in Greek Cyprus.
He was runner-up behind Leonid Sawlin at the European U16 Championship in 2015.
Kelires' IM effort at the 1st Eftychios Krommydakis International Open in 2015 was a remarkable effort. After approaching to within a point of a live rating of 2400 to clinch his IM title, he suffered a loss and a ratings-draining draw against lower rated players, but finished the tournament with three straight wins against grandmasters to not only clinch the IM title but to take first place in the tournament.
