Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-15-12  waustad: I though I recognized her name. She beat Eva Moser in the penultimate round of the Austrian Women's Championship this year to knock her into second place.
Nov-19-12  waustad: She got creamed in the U18 losing -48.8 elo.
Feb-20-13  Lingfield Grove: She scored 6/9 at Lienz and got back 24.3 elo.Good win for Andreas Diermair with 8/9. His ratings are steadily improving.Only 26.
Feb-20-13  Lingfield Grove: Just found out that three GMs arrived late for the last round and gave the tournament on a plate to Diermair! They were Jovanovic,Popovic and Sedlak. See Osterreichischer Schachbund website.
Jun-05-13  waustad: She scored a win today against Dr. Gundula Heinatz at the Mitropa Cup for the first win by an Austrian women's team that is missing the countiy's top 4 players. Many of the top European players are not participating in either the women's or open events.
Jul-13-13  waustad: With a win today over Alois Gutmann who played a suicidal looking sac, she is still mathematically alive for part of the top female prize at the Styrian Open. She has 3 going into the final round and Eva Moser has 4 but hasn't yet finished her 8th round game.

Elisabeth (Lisa) Hapala (Age 20) FIDE Elo 2083

She is now playing for Austria at the Tromso Olympiad Women.

Interestingly, so far she is the only player at the Olympiad (Open and Women) opting for the same opening line (7.Nbd2) as The World team in the current challenge against GM Naiditsch.

Mar-25-16  waustad: She's playing in a WIM norm tournament in the Czech Republic now and is +4 after 6 rounds. The other Austrian in the event, Veronika Exler, is not having her best result so far with -1.
Mar-30-16  waustad: With a clear tournament win, with 7/9 and a gain of 57 elo, Ms Hapala got a WIM norm. Congratulations.

  TheFocus: Lisa Hapala Cassidy?
Mar-30-16  Karposian: <Focus> So she married a Cassidy?

I wonder if they lived Hapala ever after.

Jan-14-17  waustad: Today she's playing on top board for ASVÍ Pamhagen in the Austrian Frauenbundesliga. She's listed as sixth board, but the team has a lot of players who may not actually play.
