Oct-06-07  jamscalpel: karl thorsteins was a top player at world cadet and junior level but then never seemed to fulfil his talent at the senior level. Anyone can shed some light.
Dec-15-10  Eastfrisian: He won the Icelandic Championship in 1989.

whiteshark: From a press notice of Kaupthing Bunadarbanki dated 2003.04.30:

<Karl Thorsteins, Managing Director of Corporate Banking, is 38 years old and is a Business Studies graduate from the University of Iceland. <He began working for Bunadarbanki Íslands in 1990. >>

This might answer <jamscalpel>'s question.

Aug-26-16  ratta65: Thank you <whiteshark> for taking the time out to respond to my earlier post (as jamscalpel). I know from personal experience just how good Mr. Thorsteins was in relation to his age cohort. I wish him all the best in his chosen professional field.
