Apr-17-11  harish22: He may not have set the world on fire, but for sometimes from mid to late 80's. Finished quite a few times in top 6 in indian nationals and represented india in olympaids. And this was a time when india had only IM's and it was quite tough get norms. Along with D V Prasad and K Murugan would rank him as few players who never made into the GM category but kept the indian chess moving along. A notch below Thipsay and Barua though. Had a few scalps to his name. Wish they had more of his games than a negative record.
Aug-27-11  ulysses ganesh: mithrakanth has scalped quite a few big names like --anand (neyveli nationals 1988),geller, rogers etc. he won the commonwealth ch., once. his compatriots --IM's murugan, lanka ravi, d.v.prasad too were/are gifted players of g.m. strength.
