Maxim Viktorovich Novik was awarded the Grandmaster title in 2003. Winner of Dortmund (1993), Berlin (1994), Oberwart (1994), Jyväskylä (Finland) (2001). Cup winner St. Petersburg in rapid chess in 2007. In 1994 he took 2nd place in the World Student Championships.
