Sep-23-05  who: Who is this guy. His record against top notch players is quite good. I've never heard of him though. Could someone post a bio?
Sep-23-05  Resignation Trap: Yury Kots was born December 9, 1933.

He won the Championship of Ukraine in 1961 and 1971.

He qualified to participate in the 29th USSR Championship in 1961 and scored 8/20 for 14th-16th place. He also qualified for the 30th USSR Championship final, where he scored a very respectable 10/19, and finished in 9th place.

When the USSR had their Championship with the Swiss-system in 1967, Kots also played there, but he finished in the middle of the crosstable.

Benzol: <Resignation Trap> I'm mystified as to why you don't get yourself on the <chessgames> Administrative Player Editor list.

I know you can contribute immensely and I for one would look forward to your postings.

Sep-24-05  Resignation Trap: <Benzol> To be honest, I didn't even know that there was an Administrative Player Editor list. How do I get myself on it?

Sounds painful.

Sep-13-10  MaczynskiPratten: This player was so good that according to the games list (as at Sep 10) he played his first game 2 years before he was born :-) However, he lost, maybe not surprisingly...
Jul-26-17  Eagle41257: He played for the Ukraine.

Phony Benoni: Since he was born in 1933, the game Kan vs Y Kots, 1931 cannot be his. We have three players with a similar last name who were active in Moscow in the early-to-mid 1930s:

A Kots

A Kotz

Kotz

It seems obvious that these three are the same person and need to be combined into one person, as well as being credited with the 1931 game on this page. However, I have no idea how to proceed ont his one.
