Feb-10-12  Knight13: <Wilhelm Steinitz, Henry Edward Bird & Joseph Henry Blackburne incidently describe a story of 6 years previous where the latter allegedly punched & threw the former out of a Paris tournament window after the former spat on the latter.> Who is "former" referring to, and who is "latter" referring to? There are three names.
Feb-10-12  AlphaMale: This little thing between Steinitz and Blackburne was bigger than Fischer versus Spassky.

To cut a tall story short: Blackburne dissed Steinitz, who, in turn, gobbed in his face, whereupon Blackburne settled matters by throwing him out of a first-floor window.
