 | | HeMateMe: If there is any biological explanation for why a young man like Fischer has problems relating to the world around him, it will probably only be solved when we have genetic engineering, which isn't so far away. I think the beginning of that will be specific engineering to block disease built on mutated genes, like MS, Hodgkins, hereditary cancer genes, and so forth. If there if a gene for manic paranoia, maybe it can be removed from a future generation of youths. |

| Jul-04-12 | | Agent Bouncy: You're next, gezafan -- they're comin' to getcha! |
| Jul-04-12 | | Jim Bartle: "The communists control the mainstream media. During the 1970s the Communist party of Cambodia murdered over 2 million people. The mainstream media never reported it." Oh Christ. The Pol Pot genocide was reported everywhere. First page of a Google search, from Time magazine in 1978: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/a... |

 | | AylerKupp: Yeah, but since when has Time magazine been considered part of the mainstream media? |
| Jul-05-12 | | Riverbeast: <If there if a gene for manic paranoia, maybe it can be removed from a future generation of youths> Ah, but then we get into the old 'genetics vs. environment' debate What causes this paranoia?
Let's assume a future, where the gene for manic paranoia is 'removed' from youth And yet drones are flying above the house, taking pictures while you're having a barbeque in your backyard (That also isn't far away...In fact, it looks like it will come a lot sooner than assumption #1) Meanwhile, one has to hope there isn't some malfunction or case of 'mistaken identity', causing said drone to unleash deadly force upon said backyard Wouldn't one, under these circumstances, possibly become paranoid anyway? With or without the gene? There is such thing as a healthy degree of paranoia... Often people prefer to call it 'sensitivity', a 'sense of danger', or a 'survival instinct' |

| Jul-05-12 | | Riverbeast: Meet your new friend, 'Droney'!

 | | AylerKupp: <Riverbeast> Very cute, I think that I'll ask "Droney" to be my Facebook friend. In my spare time I'm working on two friends of my own, "Stingy" (a shoulder launched projectile) and "Lasey" (a very bright beam of coherent light), both guaranteed to give "Droney" some heartburn. Now "Droney" will be hard to see, so "Stingy" and "Lasey" will have the help of my other friend, "Rady" to help them find "Droney". And I figure that this is all OK. After all, if I were to complain about "Droney" watching over me, I would probably be told that I was imagining things, that there was no such thing as "Droney" and, if there were, it wouldn't be watching over me. So how could I be accused of hurting something that either doesn't exist of wasn't there? But remember, just because you're not paranoid, it doesn't mean that they're not out to get you. |

 | | harrylime: Greatness is measured by how much you stand out and stand above your contemporaries...and how much you influence and change. Robert Fischer step on down. |

 | | Shams: <AylerKupp><Yeah, but since when has Time magazine been considered part of the mainstream media?> I should think, for decades if not longer. One metric for being mainstream is an absence of truly gutsy journalism. What has TIME done on that score since that scientology expose in 1991? |
| Jul-05-12 | | Riverbeast: <AylerKupp> He He... Love it Another option, that I suspect more people will try, is "Hackey" As in, "Say hello to Hackey, Droney"
"Mind if we fly somewhere else? Thanks, I'll take the controls now..." "And while we're at it, mind if I look through your camera?" ;-) |

 | | KKDEREK: Ouch..Honeymoon is over. lololol |
| Jul-10-12 | | JoergWalter: it all looked like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Mark will survive it, my money on that. |
| Jul-10-12 | | Kolyas: In a way, it has been quite heartwarming to observe this budding romance between Mark and Harry, but, alas, all too often, tragedy strikes when one of them discovers that the other one breaks wind in bed. And, yes, they will survive, but each one is left with the thought - "Oh, what might have been?" LOL! |

 | | harrylime: <JoergWalter: it all looked like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Mark will survive it, my money on that.> Hey Joerg ! do you know something I don't ? lol

Jul-10-12
 | | harrylime: Robert Fischer is the greatest chess player of all time and that should be The Focus of these pages. |
| Jul-10-12 | | I play the Fred: <harry>, I ask again: how was <chessgames.com> claiming that Nigel Short was a greater player than Fischer? |
| Jul-10-12 | | Petrosianic: And the answer to that, most likely, is "lol". |
Jul-10-12
 | | harrylime: <I play the Fred: <harry>, I ask again: how was <chessgames.com> claiming that Nigel Short was a greater player than Fischer?> Not in any definite way. Just subliminal. It's the 'now must be better' agenda .. Check out Short's bio on this site and compare it to Fischer's .. It's ridiculous.. |
| Jul-10-12 | | Kolyas: Mark, perhaps you missed it, but TheFocus is dead. Read his bio. If I was him, I would be a dead man walking. |
Jul-10-12
 | | harrylime: <Petrosianic: And the answer to that, most likely, is "lol".> And the answer to that is ' ignore' . |

Some people, think some of us so called 'lesser chess players' are downright stupid!!! Well I'm daft as a brush, but I'm not thick, and Iv'e seen through you since your first post! I wander who logged In and changed <TheFocus> bio..... And declared him dead??
Because If I was about to die, I'd also ask someone I don't know to log Into a website I'd long since left and been forgotten, and let everyone know I'd died too !!!!! Don't Insult my tiny bit of remaining Intelligence lol :) You're making yourself look a fool |
| Jul-10-12 | | Kolyas: He's dead and he still spins you up. LOL! |
