  Chessical: Witkowski represented the country in nineteen matches and more than thirty international tournaments. His best results were in 1976 (Hradec Králové - second place) and 1977 (Lublin - third place), which qualified him for title of international master. In his later years an increasing amount of his time was dedicated to being a trainer.
