Nov-07-05  Jamesbowman: Very interesting he played six years post-mortem, I was always impressed with Korchnoi's tenasity but clearly this is a topper.
Nov-07-05  sneaky pete: He's a baby compared to Alexander MacDonnell.

  brankat: <POTD> again :-)

He did win 6 Canadian championships. Had some good results against well known masters of 1910s and '20s: Maroczy, Tartakower, Janowski, Ed Lasker, Euwe.

R.I.P. master J.S.Morrison.

Dec-07-11  Penguincw: Happy 112nd birthday!
Dec-07-11  Petrosianic: What do you think he's going to do to have a happy 112nd birthday? Go out on the town?

monopole2313: Any relation to Robert Morrison, another fine Canadian player?
Dec-07-11  Eastfrisian: Another player, I have never heard from.

brankat: This is the second time in 3 years J.S.Morrison has been POTD for two consecutive days! Why such a preferential treatment?
Dec-08-11  Penguincw: Hmm. In my less than one year experience on chessgames.com, have never saw a player being Player of the Day in back to back days. Maybe they havn't fixed it yet.
