IGOR KHENKIN

GM Khenkin was born in Vladimir, Russia. He learned the rules of chess at the age of 3 or 4 from his father. He became an IM at the age of 15 and a GM in 1992. In 1999, Igor Khenkin obtained German citizenship. He won the International Open in Andorra in 2004 and 2006, was runner up behind Niclas Huschenbeth in the German Championship in 2010, German champion in 2011 and runner up to Daniel Fridman in the 2012 German Championship.
