May-24-15  cro777: French chess legend César Boutteville passed away at age 97 in Versailles, France on 21 May 2015. He would have been 98 years old today.

Boutteville won six times French Chess Championship and represented France seven times in Chess Olympiads from 1956 to 1968.

He was renowned for his fighting spirit at the chessboard: "Boutteville est un lutteur!" (Boutteville is a wrestler).
